I have noticed that the last couple of N N&Q have been a little short of Queries. Do we really believe we know it all or are we just ashamed to admit our own ignorance? I should be grateful for information on the colour around the edge of the Shabraques of British Light Dragoons, primarily that used after 1812, but also before then. Some sources I have seen suggest it was the same as the facing colour, whereas others suggest it was the same as the lace on the uniform (i.e. yellow or white; gold or silver for officers). Could anyone assist?
