K and L Miniatures is a small company out of Talsa, Oklahoma that specializes in 20mm figures. They have reasonable prices and an extensive range. There are even a few packs that seem to be for dioramas. The figures have almost no flash, but also do not have an extensive amount of detail. When asked about K and L Miniatures, The Photographic Editor of this Newsletter, Scott Mingus had these thoughts, "I bought my K+L 20mm figures back in the 1970s (Ivor Janci also bought his large collection of K+L around the same time). In that era, the castings were quite, quite clean, with no flash at all and no prework required to trim the figures. Variety was good for the day (although poor by today's standards), and for a while, K&L was THE premier 20mm ACW figure on the market, well into the early 1980s when other brands caught and then passed them. The company went out of business for many years. In recent years, the figures have been recast (probably not from the original molds since there is so much flash now and the detail is less than before). I still have a hundred or so of my old army from my college days that I keep to pass down to my kids - these are some of my earlier (and best) painting. 20mm war gamers should at least take a look at this company.
