Information SourcesMain Sources These sources were used by A. Paolini as the basis of this article; further details were researched by G.C. Boeri in the Turin State Archives, in the Ufficio Generale del Soldo, and (mainly) in the Ordini Generali Misti. There are some discrepancies between the various Italian sources perhaps due to changes of uniform details with time (especially during wartime). For the foreign units there are no uniform contract sources, so G.C. Boeri has relied upon five or six sets of contemporary plates (two of which have never been published). II Costume Militare Sabaudo, M. Ricchiardi, Turin, 1989. Storia degli Eserciti Italiani da Emanuele Fiberto di Savoia ai nostri giorni, Emilio Faldella, Bramante Editrice, l 976. Good coverage of all aspects of the title period. Uniformi Militari Italiane del Settecento, P. Crociani, Rome, 1974. Information now somewhat dated.
