Jacobite Order of Battle

No two maps seem to agree on the exact disposition of the Jacobite regiments at Culloden. This is particularly true of the third line of battle, comprised of mostly dismounted cavalry regiments. Some of these smaller units may have been amalgamated with other units, hence the descrepancies on various maps. The following order of battle draws on information contained in John Prebble's account of the battle and estimates the number of men in each regiment. Information about the cavalry derives from Stuart Reid's articles on the Jacobite army in Military Illustrated Past & Present magazine, issues No. 36 and No. 38. JACOBITE FRONT LINE:
