1. 16th Annua1 SYWA Convention in 1999: will be held once again in South Bend, Indiana at the Holiday Inn Downtown. Paul Petri advises me that the confirmed dates are Friday March 26 and Saturday March 27, 1999. Its never too early to sign up for a room or to commit to hosting a game. Christopha Duffy will return as our special guest and we hope that Brian Leigh Dunnigan will be able to make an appearance as well.

2. Tricon 18th Century Convention: October 24-25, 1998. Byron Champlin, Greg Symko and the rest of the gang have set the dates for this year's version of one of the best wargame conventions that I have seen.. The convention will once again be held at the Monument Hall on Monument Square in Concord, Massachusetts. The convention covers all aspects of 18th Century wargaming from Marlborough to Frederick the Great and from the American Revolution to the French Revolution. The convention staff is planning a full schedule of games on Saturday and some sort of re- enactment event at the Old North Bridge outside of Concord. I would like to make an appeal to all SYWA membas in the eastern US to consida running a game at this fine convention, or at least attending. If you have an interest in the 18th Century, then forget Historicon, forget Fall In, this is the convention to attend above all others. Byron reports that a large 20mm re-creation of the Battle of Brandywine is in the works, hosted by American Revolution historian, Mark Nichipor. Anyone with an interest in attending or hosting a game can call Byron Champlin at (603) 228 0097 or write to him at 154 Rumford Street, Concord NH 03301 for more information. e-mail address is LVHH62A@prodigy.com

3. Historicon 1998: the grand-daddy of all wargame conventions will be he1d at the usual locale, the Lancaster Host Resort in Lancaster, PA on Ju1y 21-25, 1998. Members should be interested to know that Christopher Duffy plans to attend a give several lectures. For more information; contact JT Thomas at 8314 Sprague Place, New Carrollton, MD 20784; or phone (301) 5524879.
