The Associations' re-enactment event and living history displays at Newhaven Fort on May 15 attracted large crowds of appreciative spectators. The event was so successful that the Castle Manager, Ian Everest, was kind enough to forward the following letter to the NA Committee. "I would be very grateful if you could pass on the thanks of the fort team to everyone in the Napoleonic Association who was present and helped to make the day a success. The amount raised for charity is, I believe now heading over £ 5,000. It was a superb experience to have the NA on site. Although we have had some involvement with reenactment groups in the past, there has been nothing to match the professional approach, which you clearly give to both the planning and interpretation of your displays. We have a high number of season ticket holders ... without exception, all agree that the NA display had been the best that they had seen anywhere. In addition, they also complimented your members in the manner in which they dealt with visitors' enquiries. In my experience this important quality is sadly lacking with many other groups."
