The Württemberg Contingent 1800

The Württemberg contingent serving with the Imperial army in Germany during the War of the Second Coalition was initially organised in two separate formations, the second of which was financed by Britain. The first, formed in January 1800 was called the Württembergische Reichs-Kontingent (Württemberg Imperial Contingent), the second, formed in April 1800 and financed by Britain, went by the name of the Reichs-Kontingents-Ergänzungskorps (Imperial Contingent Supple-mentary Corps). The contingents served initially in the 'Army Corps' commanded by FML Sztaray, and consisted of the following units:

Reichs-Kontingent. GM von Seeger

    Grenadier-Bataillon von Zobel (4/870)
    Musketier-Bataillon von Mylius (4/870)
    Musketier-Bataillon von Obernitz (4/870)
    Artillery: Six 3pdr cannon

Reichs-Kontingents-Ergänzungskorps. GM von Beulwitz

    Musketier-Bataillon von Seeger (5/870)
    Musketier-Bataillon von Beulwitz (5/870)
    Musketier-Bataillon von Seckendorf (5/870)
    2 Coys Fussjägerkorps
    2 Sqns Chevau-légers-Regiment
    1 Sqn Garde de Corps
    Reserve Artillery:
      Four 12pdr cannon
      One 6pdr cannon
      One 12pdr howitzer
      Two 7pdr howitzer

    In November 1800, the two contingents were formed into a division commanded by General von Hugel apparently serving under the Prince of Condé

    I have found no mention of the Württembergers being present at Hohenlinden. JC.
