We have certainly had some excellent sites for the first three major events of this summer, with both Ditchling Common, and Hawarden Castle being venues new to the NA. The event at Ditchling was very well attended with a superb barn dance, and barbecue being the highlight for many members. Hawarden Castle was likewise a new venue with the undulating terrain, woods and stream providing an excellent battlesite. The busy schedule continues with a visit to Ashton Court. Ashton Court in Bristol, 10th/11th August. Members who have visited this site promise us an excellent weekend where an additional and spectacular side to the event is the Bristol Balloon Fiesta. First Empire Show If you haven't met the NA yet, we will again be supporting the First Empire Show on the 18th August, with all aspects of the NA - Research, Re-enactment, and Wargames to hand if you would like to know more about us. August Bank Holiday The August Bank Holiday, 24-26th August, sees another first for us with a trip to Elizabeth Castle on the island of Jersey. The barracks within the castle will once again echo to the sound of British Peninsula veterans ready to repel any invasion attempt from France. This is again an opportunity to visit one of the best preserved castles I have seen, and at a very low cost. If you haven't booked to travel yet, its not too late. It you would like to go contact me at the address below as soon as you can. Cranleigh Back from Jersey and closer to home Cranleigh, in Surrey is the venue for our final major event of the summer - 7th / 8th September. Again a magnificent country setting will provide a great backdrop to the show. All these events will include living history displays, as well as full battle re-enactments on both days. After the Cranleigh event a number of
members will be traveling to Italy for the
bicentennial re-enactment of the Battle of
Arcola, taking place on the 15th and 16th
September. As with Jersey if you are
