15mm Figures for the War of 1812

Part 1: War of 1812 Specific

By Fitzhugh R. Maccrae

Minifigs

The first company we will look at is “Old Reliable” - Minifigs. These people have been around for a very long time (though with occasional changes of ownership), long enough for their War of 1812 figures to have been re sculpted into new figures. These packs come as 24 infantry or 8 cavalry per pack, a 3-figure command set included unless otherwise specifically stated. British units come with the appropriate flank company figures included in the basic pack.

There are a number of new figures being considered, including western US militia, US militia hussars, and US militia artillerists. Time will tell if they are going to appear, or not.

Falcon Figures U.K.

Falcon Figures UK are available on this side of the puddle through The Quartermaster, located in Canada. These are nicely sculpted, and the line has been continuously expanding. Cavalry are one-piece castings, something that is still popular in Europe. There are eight infantry, four cavalry, six command, or six artillerists per pack. The British line infantry are in stovepipe shakos as is appropriate.
