Fixing various vintage Napoleonics
I have some vintage napoleonic units to refurbish. They need additional figures and some repaint, bayonet fixing and similar. Some figures are Minifigs and some are Hinchliffe, but since the Minifigs recast from caliber are very very poor and the Hinchliffe site seems to have problems with orders, I have decided to use Bicorne figures. Bicorne and Connoisseur are very similar, in both age and style, to Hinchliffe, so they should be fine.
The list of battalions to be fixed is below:
- Brunswick Leib battalion
- Brunswick line battalion
- Prussian Landwehr battalion
- One Hungarian Insurrectio battalion.
- Two russian line battalions
It is a rather heterogeneous list, but the original painting is excellent and they will form the basis for armies other than the British which I own so far. In any case they are fun to restore!
The only reference to Hungarian Insurrectio figures I have found here, with some photos of troops as vintage as my own. Uniform details are here.
I need to decide if I wish to start restoring only when all the extra needed figures arrive, or to start fixing and basing what is available now. Mmmmm…. In any case photos not so soon.
