Vitoria 1813
A very enjoyable game organised by Maurizio, with Marco playing the Perfida Albione and me as French.
The game scenario was built by Maurizio, fully based on the original battle (The battle plan shown below is taken from Wikipedia), we used a 240×180 table to play this battle, which originally extended over many kilometres.
The game played very well with the BBB rules.
You may find the battle report in the photo captions. The attack of Graham never materialised, since the full D’Erlon Corps was defending the hills north of Vitoria and Graham had lost two divisions along the way to the battlefield.
Please write a comment below if you wish to contact Maurizio and ask him for the map and order of battle.
As a start, you may have a look at the OOB and maps which Maurizio prepared. We are now formatting the battle description, as suggested by the Chris, the author of BBB.
Looks really interesting and I’d love to see the scenario, please.
Very nice. Any chance of posting the scenario to the BBB Group.io site?
Hi Alan,
so far it is handwritten notes, order of battle and map.
It might take a while to format it properly, but I will start.
Best,
Stefano
Hi Stefano, Maurizio, nice report, thank you. It’s great to see players getting creative and designing your own scenarios for BBB. Particularly impressed to see you got such a good game out of Vitoria (my own attempt in the years before BBB wasn’t very successful). Great job!
hi Chris,
very kind of you. I am trying to use your template to prepare a battle file. It is bit awkward to use, I wonder if you have some new version at hand.
Many thanks,
Stefano
