Honours of War: Kutsdorf (virtual)
Second battle played with Francesco and Marco. It is the second scenario appearing on the Osprey book ruleset. The two armies are from the Marquisat of Frankeski and from the Duchy of Grosse-Horne. All units are standard and they behave as Austrians.
Initial deployment
Move 1-2
Marquisat cavalry advances in double line to Kutsdorf, while his artillery does not seem very active and stays in place. The Duchy infantry on the right moves to counter an attack coming from light infantry moving through woods.
The Marquisat infantry advances in close ranks toward the closest enemy brigade.
Move 3
Cavalry clash near the village of Kutsdorf while infantry closes to short range.
Moves 4-5
Many routs due to heavy firing and a cavalry melee. The cavalry of the Marquisat have charged the enemy cavalry, won a melee and pursued, but it was eliminated by the enemy second cavalry line. Along the right flank of the Duchy of Grosse-Horne, there has been heavy fighting at close range. The fusillade and close range canister has created a hole along the Duchy defences.
Starting with a break point of 5 Army points on both sides, the following are left:
- 2.5 for the Marquisat of Frankeski (one cavalry, one infantry routed, one infantry retreated)
- 1.5 for the Duchy of Grosse-Horne (one cavalry, two infantry routed, one cavalry retreated)
Move 6
The units of the Marquisat decided to retire from close range musketry, leaving only their artillery to pound the enemy.
One of the Marquita battalion is trying to occupy the village of Kutzdorf to try to raise the rather low morale of they rarmy.
Net result is one battalion per side leaving the field.
Current morale
- 1.5 for the Marquisat of Frankeski (one cavalry, two infantry routed, one infantry retreated)
- 0.5 for the Duchy of Grosse-Horne (one cavalry, three infantry routed, one cavalry retreated)
All brigades, from the two sides are holding on their morale.
