Imagine-nations (and Real-nations) Wargame rules
Since I am building a number of late xviii century units in 28mm, I also need to focus on which rulesets to adopt.
Maurice
The first set coming to my mind is Maurice, by Sam Mustafa. This is not a standard ruleset since it uses cards which may be change the narrative during each turn of the game. For this reason some of my friend do not like it and I need to look at other possibilities.
Honours of War
From Osprey, from Keith Flint, Honours of War seems usable being very standard in its game mechanisms. It has enough nice details which allows it to be used for small engagements.
Post of Honour
Another freely available set of rules by Keith Flint. They are very similar to the above, but maybe simpler and more streamlined, being a companion set to Shadows of the Eagles Napoleonic rules. They seem more suitable to larger games respect to Honours of War.
Other rules
Other rules related to this period are Warfare in The Age of Reason, Koenig-Krieg, one version of Shako. They are all from before the XXI century and may be reconsidered, but in general they are dedicated to play larger battles.
