Notes from the Editor...

by Dave Reynolds

Happy Holidays from the "staff" of The Zouave. As 1993 comes to a close we complete our seventh year of publication. We have slightly over five hundred members...a good size ACW regiment! We increased the size of our magazine this past year and would like to increase again next year - all we need is for each member to send one article !!!

Some plans for next year include: a member survey, reenactor column, ACW board gamer column, computers in ACW wargaming, and possibly an enhanced graphics format for our magazine layout. We will continue the current style of scenarios and ACW gaming related articles. I have enough room at our new location to even consider an ACW gaming convention! Who knows what lies ahead ?

Speaking of the future we hope that you will renew your membership for 1994. No Subscription Increase!! The same price we offered way back in 1988. Kudos to Lloyd Eaker Jr. of PIP Printing in Dallas.

In early 1994 I will list many of the other ACW magazines available with address etc. I would like to mention two now: Reb & Yank is the news letter of the American Civil Wargaming Society of Queensland (Australia) and Scenarios for Wargames. Reb & Yanks format is similar to the Zouave and Scenarios offers all historic periods, with each issue containing an excellent ACW Scenario.

If you enjoy the Zouave I assure you that you will appreciate these fine magazines. On to '94

"Fight anything that comes."

This issue dedicated to the memory of my father: Willard Carl Reynolds
