Musket Miniatures: A new Company with familiar figure lines. Jim McCarron, founder of Stone Mountain Miniatures, has started a new military miniatures company, Musket Miniatures. Jim is offering several of the established lines he designed including the 22mm "Brigadier" American Civil War and 15 and 25mm " Flintlock" American Revolution lines. Musket Miniatures caters to the individual mail order customer and offers a variety of wargaming products. Included in their illustrated catalog are new terrain and scenery accessories, paper flag sets, paints and colored uniform painting guides. Jim will be adding new figures to these existing lines and wants to hear from all prior and potential new customers. If you are interested in quality figures and personal service, check out Musket Miniature's advertisement in this issue.

Thoroughbred Figures: has sent us two models of their American Civil war iron clads. The Union gunboat Cairo and the C. S. S. Arkansas. These are a waterline design in 1/600 scale and cast in a high tin content alloy. The cost range currently if $9.10 - $13.50. This is for an unassembled kit - you can purchase them assembled & "antiqued" and polished. Future releases are in the planning. I found the two samples to be excellent in all areas - no flash, easy to assemble, and very realistic in appearance. Each model comes with an information sheet describing the ship, assembly & painting tips and its historical day of battle - a nice touch. I recommend a try
