The Zouave carries on! The efforts of Brian Scherzer and many others, established this magazine five years ago. It has become the finest magazine devoted to American Civil Wargaming in the world. For this reason, Volume Six is dedicated to him. It will be my intent to maintain the flavor and freshness of my predecessor. We will strive to entertain and educate our members with a lively accurate magazine. The Zouave is nothing, if not a magazine written for the most part, by its readers. That is what has made the Zouave what it is. So, please send in your scenarios, articles, letters, and suggestions. Instructions for submitting articles are found elsewhere in this issue. Assisting me, in addition to my family, as associate editor will be Jeff Farmer, of Austin, Texas. He has a wealth of knowledge in military history, a printer by profession and quite frankly the best figure painter I have encountered. A little about myself - I am 41 years old and own The Command Post Miniature Painting Service. I have been involved in our hobby for more that half my life. My interest in the ACW was sparked early when my parents took me to the centennial anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg. I can still see the reenactors making Pickett's charge. In games I prefer entertaining, but reasonably historical rules, "wargaming is a hobby intended for enjoyment!" We are dedicated to continuing the Zouave. We need your help so please recruit members and give us your input. Trust and go forward...
