Word has it from a very reliable source that GDW is about to reprint Johnny Reb, 2nd Edition, again. It has apparently been out of print for some time, leaving many potential buyers unable to obtain sets. As I understand it, there will be no changes from the last printing. Expect to see JR available in the near future. Stone Mountain Miniatures has taken over the 1:1200 line of ACW ships previously sold by Lyzard's Grin. The line will now be called "Houston's Ships" after their designer, Richard Houston. The line will be expanded from its already formidable size in the near future. Also, several of the earliest releases, including the Monitor, etc., will be redesigned to bring them up to the current high standards of the later models. For those of you who prize attending conventions, Origins '91 will be held July 4-7, 1991 in Baltimore. In the area of American Civil War activities, both John Hill, author of Johnny Reb, and Rich Hasenauer, author of Fire & Fury, will be in attendance to assist ACW miniatures gamers. It's one of those rare chances to confront a rules author with all of those questions you've been dying to ask! The Zouave would like to conduct a poll among its members regarding which ACW figure lines you like the most, and why you have chosen that particular line. Please drop us a note prior to June 30th so that we can have the results of the poll in the Summer issue. We've never really gone too far into the issues of favored figure lines. However, it would be nice to know what you look for in your castings. This poll could potentially have an impact on what figures are put into production by the various manufacturers.
