Unidentified Confederate Kentucky Cavalryman
This copy of an ambrotype photograph shows a Kentucky trooper, possibly one of John Hunt Morgan's men. This same individual is shown in a slightly different pose in one of the Time Life Civil War series books. Note the long cavalry saber and holstered pistol...tools of teh trade. The clothing typifies what many view as the classic horse soldier. Whether or not this fellow fought well, he certainly looked the part of a gallant cavalryman.
