Letters to the Editor

by the readers

Dear Brian:

I just received the first 3 issues of Vol. III and just wanted to say that THE ZOUAVE is exactly what I've been seeking in a gaming publication. The emphasis on scenarios and rules for ACW miniatures, coupled with historical articles fits with my hobby interests very well. One request or interest that I have is for ideas or rules adaptations for solitaire play....

Dear Brian,

Please find enclosed my subscription for 1990. Keep up the good work for next year. I've really enjoyed THE ZOUAVE this year and each issue is better than the previous one. I'll make a concerted effort in the new year and put pen to paper and write an article.

Dear Zouave Staff, I would first like to thank you for the past work you have done. I have been an avid ACW player for ten years. My club and I are currently engaged in a campaign using the SHENANDOAH CAMPAIGN SYSTEM, have been very satisfied with the system, and have had several confrontations between the two forces. Unfortunately for my comrades and myself, it is looking more like the Valley Campaign of 1864 than Jackson in 1862. Your magazine is a wonderful mix between actual history and table gaming. Interesting personalities, engagements, and special units are examined. Then, gamers are given what helps most....how to get that information onto the table. Keep up the good work.

Dear Brian,

Enclosed is my check for 1990 membership dues. I thought I'd take the time to let you know I enjoy your publication immensely. Each issue is getting better. We have a small group of 6 people who play STARS & BARS II on a weekly basis. Hopefully, some day John Miller and I will do an article or scenario for your publication.

Dear Brian,

I just received my latest issue of THE ZOUAVE. Your rules, ADVANCE THE COLORS are a welcome addition to the period as several had expressed interest in skirmish ACW and the timing is perfect. If the rules play as well magazine supports the hobby, they will indeed be a fresh approach to gaming ACW. Thank you for your foresight.

--Mike Coggins / Pontotoc, Miss

Dear Sir,
