Very rarely does an editor receive something to review that catches his fancy enough to use adjectives such as "great" or "incredible". Such was my luck recently when I was sent some Revo f lags to comment on. Made for both 15mm and 25mm scales, these colorful flags are historically accurate and are extremely well done. Revo puts out flags for several periods. They make a total of eight sheets of flags for those gaming the Civil War. Sheet #8 is 25mm and has two national flags, plus two regimental colors on it. Sheet #9 is for Confederate armies and has a total of eleven 25mm f lags on it. There is one National Stars and Bars flag, one for the 18th Tennessee that even has battle honors and regimental name visible, one for the 6th Florida with regimental name visible, one Stars and Bars flag that has "24th" on it, a flag with red field, and white crescent moon and stars on it, one with blue field, white cross, and a red border - and the list goes on. Sheet #25 has four Union regimental colors on it, those being a 5th Wisconsin, 3rd New Jersey, 33rd Pennsylvania, and 69th New York (Irish brigade flag on green field, gold harp, red scrolls and yellow lettering). All of these flags are absolutely accurate in detail and the regimental names are crystal clear. The last 25mm sheet is #26. It contains eight Confederate State flags, each of which is done in fine detail! As impressive as the 25mm flags were, the 15mm sheets were even better! The colors are perfect and do not run together, as is the case with LaLegion. Details on even the smallest flag are quite crisp, making these flags the envy of a gaming table! Sheet #11 contains basically the same flags as sheet #9 in the previous paragraph. Sheet #12 has three Union national colors and three regimental flags. Sheet #26 is the 15mm version of #25 for the 25mm flags, and #27 is the 15mm set of Confederate State flags (same as #26 in the above paragraph). In case you hadn't noticed, the sheets for 15mm and 25mm have similar numbers, so you will have to be careful when ordering. For instance, if you want several of sheet #26 for 15mm armies, you should order it as "15mm Revo flags, sheet #26 - ACW Union State Infantry Flags". This will avoid confusion and getting the wrong material. 25mm flag sheets are $2 each, while the 15mm flag sheets are $1.25 each. They are peeled off of the sheet and already have adhesive material on their backs. Revo Flags can be ordered from their distributor: Wargames, Inc. / Box 278 Route 40 East / Triadelphia, WV 26059.
