The editor received several castings of Front Rank's ACW line of 25mm and 15mm figures. There were only two 25mm figures, and three 15mm castings sent, so no in-depth review can be done. However, the castings were extremely well done and merit some notice. The figures are rather large, but very well proportioned and detailed. The poses are excellent, and are equal to, or better, than any other ACW lines I've seen. However, they are really 30mm and 18mm figures, making them unsuitable, for instance, for mixing with Stone Mountain, Freikorps, or Minifigs. If this doesn't bother you, go for it! The three 15mm castings are: a drummer carrying his drum by a strap over his shoulder; an officer wearing a kepi, right arm in sling (obviously wounded), and pointing a pistol straight ahead; and an infantryman in kepi advancing with rifle. The first two figures are exceptional. Of the two 25mm figures, the first is an officer with right hand on his holster and left arm out, pointing the way for his troops. The second figure is an infantryman with full gear, including haversack, getting a cartridge from his cartridge box, while holding a musket (so short that it looks like a carbine) on his thigh. Both are wonderfully detailed. According to their catalog, there are sixty different 25mm castings, including cavalry, officers, infantry, musicians, artillerists, zouaves, and personality figures - each selling for 28 pence. There are seventy-eight different castings in the 15mm line, each selling for 10 pence. They do accept Mastercard.
