Odds and Ends

by Brian R. Scherzer

I wish to take time out to thank Butch Taggert especially, and others at American Speedy Printing, for their tremendous assistance in advice and donated time and labor to help THE ZOUAVE get off the ground. Without Butch, this magazine would indeed be a "rag".

Special thanks also go out to Bill Turner, whose generosity of allowing us. the use of photos which appeared in his recent book are apparent in this issue. Others. will be published in later issues.. I also want to thank Dave Babb and the folks at Stone Mountain Miniatures, who have given their wholehearted support to the Society. The same thanks go out to our other Corporate Sponsors: Henry Deeks; Games, Crafts, Hobbies, and Stuff; Ulster Imports, Ltd.; and 19th Century Miniatures.. These people have put their money into the hobby and deserve your support!

I was mildly disappointed in the lack of response to our offering of authentic Civil War photographs. There were very few takers, which means that either the information didn't get across. to many or that wargamers are not very interested in owning such items. We still have a good selection of photos of Union generals (many by Mathew Brady) for between $15 and $45. If interested, contact me at the Society address.
