Empire Miniatures is alive again under new ownership. As a result, the 15mm Confederettes (American Civil War), Napoleonettes (Napoleonics) and Classics (Punic Wars) miniature lines are available again after being unavailable for about three years. These lines were designed by Stan Glanzer and Duke Seifried in the late 1970's. They were produced by Custom Cast, Inc., then Heritage Models, and finally by Empire Miniatures. (Author's note: I was temporarily the production supervisor at Custom Cast when the first Napoleonettes were produced in 1976.) For information, contact Joe O'Malley at Empire Miniatures, 1100 Canyon Ridge Drive, DeSoto, Texas, 75115. For those unfamiliar with the Confederettes line, it is a line of "small" 15mm ACW figures. An individual figure measures 14 to 15mm from the top of the base to the top of the figure's head. The figures' mass is roughly equal to those of Stone Mountain's 15mm ACW line. The figures are well detailed, and were state-of-the art when they were first produced (and still are, in many people's opinions). The line contains seven packs of Confederate infantry, seven packs of Union infantry, Confederate cavalry, Union cavalry, separate command packs for both Confederate and Union infantry and cavalry command, three Zouave packs, Zouave command, dismounted cavalry packs for both sides, eight types of guns, generals for both sides, artillerists for both sides, limbers and caisson packs, and horse team and driver packs. In other words, it is a fairly complete line, especially since most packs contain two or more poses.
