We are Winds of Valor, the Compendium Project for the Battle of Gettysburg, dedicated to battlefield preservation, and compiling all of the information possible about this most significant battle of the American Civil War. We are most unique in that we are gathering and compiling all possible data in one internet resource, including all of the photographs, maps, biographies, unit history, diaries, letters, official reports and more, and we are correlating them into a searchable database. We are doing so for the researcher and the historians, whether a published author or someone with a passing interest. We are preserving the memory of those brave people who gave their all for America. We are also unique in presenting a means of funding for heritage preservation by dedicating a minimum of 10% of any and all gross proceeds from this venture to battlefield preservation organizations and causes. We give back something to those we obtain something from - it's the right thing to do. We have created many programs to publish the thoughts or either accomplished or aspiring authors, protecting their rights and offering the best we possibly can for them. There are a lot of folks with thoughts out there with no place to state them - we offer them that opportunity. We sponsor and plan organized trips to Gettysburg or elsewhere at least three times a year, which we call Musters and Expeditions, and arrange for discounted rates at area motels or other arrangements, and include preservation fundraising programs within each visit. We include famous authors and speakers, and arrange tours of the battlefield conducted by many experts in the field. We share our knowledge and invite others to join us to do the same - no matter what group you belong to. We have the Winds of Valor Discussion Boards, where members can voice and share their thoughts in a communal and respectful setting, discussing all the various aspects and questions about the battle. Guests are welcome to view these thoughts and ideas, and even join in if they have a specific question, thought, or just want to introduce their particular cause. We are Winds of Valor, and we invite you to join us in our quest for the Compendium and remembering those that fought, bled, or died those days for their beliefs, allowing us the country that we enjoy today.
