First, let me apologized for the delay in mailing out issue 4. Unfortunately, with visiting parents it makes things difficult to conduct business without making mom and dad feel unwelcomed. Besides how do you explain to them what I'm doing without getting a rather strange look from them. So now the annual parental visit is over and Unicorn Pegasus can resume somewhat normal production. Secondly, and this is a lot harder for me to write without breaking down and stopping in mid sentence, on October 3, 1997, Buddy our seven year old mixed German Shepherd passed away from cancer. Most folks would say he was just a dog, but to Claire and he was a very big part of our lives. From the moment we rescued him from the humane society up till the last time we saw him, the memones will remain with us. But now, our home, and the main office of Unicorn Pegasus is very empty. Buddy use to spend a goad deal of time in the office of Unicorn Pegasus laying down between the people he loved the most. I don't think he'll ever fully understand the joy he brought Claire and I. Who else would stay up until 2 am on some nights while the magazine was being put together and look at us with the look of "Are we going to bed yet?". Claire always had to be careful when she rollbacked in her chair because, Buddy loved to lay down behind her chair and several times he almost got rolled over. Of course I don't think he quite understood what "mom" and "dad" were doing but he loved being with us. Those big brown eyes, never ending shedding fur, and crooked tail will be sorely missed in the office and in our hearts. Of Brass Rings Well I can almost say that Unicorn Pegasus rather White Knight almost ended up with a major gaming company. In an attempt to find more subscribers, quite a few former members of Dragonslayers Unlimited were contacted to see if they were interested in receivig a sample issue with the possibility of become a subscriber. One of the members was also a representative from Ral Partha. After an initial inquiry, a free sample and some general questions, the deal was not to be fruitful for Unicorn Pegasus. We didn't mind the rejection from the Ral Partha representative. He did say that White Knight could use some work and that overall it was a good publication. However, with the small amount of subscribers, it would not be economically viable for Ral Partha. Well, at least he let us down gently but did keep the staff in mind for possible other projects with Ral Partha. I may be a little skeptical about this because saying and doing are two different items entirely. Ive been known to been wrong about things before so wnthout putting my foot any further in my mouth, I'll shut my mouth. Lastly, please welcome the following writers to White Knight: Alan Gunhouse and Henry Courtemanche and Jeff Schmidt.
