Reno, NV - From the podium of the GAMA trade Show Speaker's platform, Ryan S. Dancey, VP Porduct development for Five Rings Publishing Group announced that FRDG has acquired the rights to develop, produce, market, and distribute the Rage Collectible Card Game, formerly produced by White Wolf Game Studio. Mr Dancey's announcement was followed immediately by the information that Luke Peterschmidt has been retained by Five Rings to serve as the developer for the RAGE product line. Peterschmidt was the head of the gaming products division at Friedlander Publishing Group until earlier this year, and he spearheaded the development of the GUARDIAN'S Collectible Card Game. and the DARK AGES CCG. Also, the attendees were told that more information would be available in the near future, pending final negotiations between Five Rings and White Wolf. The announcement stunned the crowd of several hundred game retailers, distributors, and manufacturers. Despite strong intitial sales in 1995, the RAGE game was officially put on hiatus earlier this year as a part of that company's restructurg to focus on its role-playing games. Dancey explained that White Wolf and Five Rings feel that there is still an avid base of support. Because of the continuing support for RAGE in the marketplace, and the growing success that Five Rings has experienced with collectible card gaming products, Five Rings is convinced that RAGE can become a growing, proftable line for the company. As final details are arranged between White Wolf and Five Rings, more information will be made publicly available on the Five Rings web site. and distributed to the Adventure Gaming industry press.
