Well by now you should of heard of the re-release of Star Wars. I must admit just how much improving could they make on a movie that is close to twenty years old. What could they possibly add to make a good movie better? Well, if they went for the "better" aspect, it was a little short. The new special effects made things sharper, and a bit more exciting than the original. For the first time the audience actually sees Jabba the Hut walk, well, slither anyway. The explosion of the Death Star is a bit more dramatic and sharper this time around. The re-release of Star Wars does explain some inconsistencies that were in the original. Like how did Luke know the other pilot when they went to attack the Death Star. We actually get some background into Han Solo and his troubles with Jabba. What I liked was some of the added footage make for some comical scenes that really added to the movie. Han steps on Jabba's tail and the expression Jabba makes is one that will at least put a grin on any face. I don't want to give away much more than this, but seeing Star Wars again for it re-release is worth at least the afternoon matinee. The force is with Luke and with the others as they overcome the empire again. If you seen the original, it was good, and the added material makes it a little better. If your kids haven't seen the full screen version, take them. They will certainly enjoy the movie and you might too.
