The Rings of Elven Lifeby Claire Brierton These rings appears as an ordinary rings to the average person. Its real ability is based on the love that a couple such as a human to an elf or half elf have for each other. These rings are created by both parties involved. The rings can be made of any material fashioned into ring form. The magic comes from a ceremony performed by a high level cleric using a combine spell and the love that each mate has for the other. The ceremony combined with the spell, allows the race with the shorter life span to live a life span of the other race, such as the fife span of an elf, half elf, etc. If the love is false, the rings will shatter aging both parties twenty years. The race with the shorter life span will physically age to the age they normally would be. In some cases the shorter span being may find themselves buried by sundown. The rings will never come off unless the finger is severed from the hand, or if both parties pass away. In the case of a ring being forcibly removed, the party who lost their ring has one month to retrieve the ring or they will begin to rapidly age. Dwarven Defender's Axby Bill Brierton These axes are made especially for what is known in the dwarven realm a Defender. These axes are created by a dwarf who has been chosen by the dwarven deities to be the Defender of his/her clan. The dwarf must be of good alignment and only can be a fighter or cleric or a multi classed fighter-cleric. The ax is a double bibbed ax made of highly polished steel and silver. As the dwarf labors over the ax, the deity or deities enhances the ax with abilities similar to that of a paladin's holy sword. The ax will never dull and in only extreme situations will shatter. Any person other than the dwarf who created the ax must make a save versus magic at a penalty of -10. A failed saving throw does 1D10 points of damage for each step the wielder is from Lawful Good. At the end of a month the character must make another saving throw versus magic. This saving throw starts with the normal save, but incurs a penalty each month at a rate of -2. If the character fails the save at any time, he/she will start to take on the characteristics of the dwarf who created the ax. If the dwarf who created the ax dies in battle or old age, the ax mysteriously disappears never to be found again. It is rumored that the ax is taken with the spirit of the dwarf to assist the dwarf in his/her new life.
