Vuffi Raa
Star Wars RPG Character

Droid

by Bill Brierton

Adapted from the book: The Lando Calrissian Adventures by: L. Neil Smith

The name of Vuffi Raa is not what it seems. At first, hearing the droid's title, most beings, make the assumption that it is a name like one of many, reserved for sapient beings. Droids are always assigned a series of letters and/or numbers in a language he has no recollection of.

Vuffi Raa was packed inside a crate aboard when his initial activation began. A pirate attck on the vessel transporting the droid to his initial point of sale, exposed his compartment to the vacuum of space. As a self preservation mechanism, his encoded programming activated the droid prematurely. This premature activation caused a malfunction in the droid's memory circuits.

As a result, Vuffi Raa has no knowledge of his planet of origin or the beings who constructed him. He maintains only a vague impression that he was fashioned after the beings who created him. In reality he is an offspring of an ancient race of mechanoids.

He has proven himself a capable pilot, navigator, communications specialist and starship mechanic. His gunnery skill versus unmanned targets is superb.

The droid stands 1 meter tall when braced on all five limbs for stability. He has a chromium plated pentagon shaped central module, with one of his matching limbs protruding form each edge. Each limb sports a unique device on its tip. These have mulitple uses ranging from visual sensor to spot weirder. A glowing red sensor tops his silvery central module.
