Tradition

The Latest Issue

by Don Featherstone

No one can deny that the wargamer and the man who purely collects military miniatures overlap in many places. TRADITION is basically a magazine for the latter but it has a host of interest and valuable information for the wargamer. For that reason its regular purchase is strongly recommended.

Number Two edition from its most striking and colourful cover to its end plate (an advert in French which gives me valuable translating exercise) is 'glossy' in every sense of the word. Its lavish illustrations are colourful and plentiful - its comprehensive articles are by writers whose names are literally household words in the military and model soldier world.

Many readers have asked me to publish fuller details of uniforms and equipment in this little magazine - TRADITION does this so well and at such length as to bear out my contention that this paper is best left to wargaming pure and simple.

The Napoleonic fan will have a field-day with TRADITION but the ancient adherent and the immediate post-war Prussian enthusiast is also catered for. Obviously, periods other than these and other countries will be covered in later issues and the whole, after a year or so of publication, will provide a volume of almost incomparable value to the collector.
