New Illustrations

by Donald Featherstone

I hope this improved issue of the Newsletter really rocks you back on your heels! For a long time I have been bitterly conscious that its production left a lot to be desired and have sincerely wished to improve it. Now, I have bought a complete new outfit, that will enable me to duplicate drawings, maps photographs etc on electronic stencils - hence this new, illustrated newsletter:

Of course, in this world one gets nothing for nothing - so I am afraid- that I have had to slightly raise-the price, but only at the rate of 4d per issue or 1d a week. I hope that the readers- will consider them to be justified. I do not want any more cash-sent, (unless you prefer to do it that way) I will adjust the cash that you have already paid. In this way, the old subscrition of 24/- or $3.50 will get you ten months issues instead of the original twelve. You will be reminded that your subs are due again in ten month's time from when you last renewed.

This new edition is being sent to everyone who has ever been a subcriber - those who have let their subscription lapse for one reason or another, and also to many new names obtained from various routes. It is also going to many names who were on the old list of subscribers to the Wargamers Digest (of hallowed memory). I hope that some of you feel inclined to support this venture and, by your cash, enablo me to improve it even more.

There seems to be a number of admirable wargamers clubs and groups springing up in towns in America and this country to aid members of these clubs to see this magazine I am prepared to let these clubs have annual subscriptions at half rates providing they order a minimum of four subscriptions. Thus four men of a club can all get the he newsletter for the price of two subscriptions. Such ordering must be done through the club secretary and not by individuals.

Now that I can do illustrations I would welcome drawings and photographs of your wargames, particularly of yourselves so that we can all see just what old Charlie who fights with Assyrian Levies looks like: Drawings must be done on white paper and in Indian ink or very dark pencil. Coloured drawings mill not come out coloured I am afraid.

Orders for the Wargamers Yearbook continue to roll in - for new readers this is to be an annual affair - about three times the size of this and costing not more than 10/- ($2.50). I must have 100 firm orders to start production.

Will anyone who is interested in acquiring a copy of H.G.Wells's wonderful book LITTLE WARS please contact the Editor as soon as possible.
