Translated by C. and R. Cramford (? Leader of the Light Division in the Peninsula ?) 1787. I have recently acquired volumes 1 and 2 of this work by the great field engineer and recommend it to anyone seeking a really detailed account of parts of the war there must be a copy in the National Library System somewhere. Volume 1 is a detailed account of Maxen. Volume 2 an equally detailed account of the Zorndorf campaign. To judge the detail the Maxen affair is usually awarded half a page in typical 'works - there are some 200 of it here.
