DEPOTS

A depot is a large population center that has the resources to provide Administrative Points. An army's Center of Operations may draw upon a depot for its APs in lieu of its regular Supply Source. A Depot acts as a Supply Source if it meets the Conditions of Use.

Where Depots May be Established

Depots may be built in the largest towns only. These towns (printed in ALL CAPS in the current prototype) include Ciudad Rodrigo, Almeida, Pinhel, Castelo Rodrigo, etc.

How to Build a Depot

The Center of Operations must occupy the town hex where the depot is to be created. During the entire period of construction, no APs may be expended. In addition, the hex must meet the conditions of use during construction.

The construction of the Depot takes a number of turns, depending upon the Level of Accumulated APs, as follows:

    12-13+ APs two turns
    10-11 APs three turns
    8-9 APs four turns
    6-7 APs five turns
    4-5 APs six turns
    2-3 APs seven turns
    0-1 APs not permitted

The more APs you have accumulated at the moment you want to build the Depot, the quicker it happens. Also, there should be a cost in APs. There is only one "size" of Depot, and only one Depot would be used at any given time. (just as an army has only one Supply Source at once.)

Conditions of Use of Depots

1. The Depot must have a LOC to the mapedge Supply Source. This LOC may not exceed 80 Primary Road hexes.

2 . The Hinterland: If Enemy units occupy any surrounding town within five hexes of the depot, (except those across a Primary River) it is considered inactive.
