Editorial

Waterloo '99 will be run June 11-13 (Fri.-Sat.-Sun) at Fort Monmouth, N.J.

It is the next in the series of JodieCons run by Major Pete Panzeri, US Army Infantry at the United States Military Academy Prep School (USMAPS), and will feature over twenty players per side as French, Prussians, British and their allies. A special modification of Rich Hasenaur's ACW Fire and Fury rules will be used.

The weekend is quite a bargain at a $50 basic fee, plus cheap meals, continuous free snacks and audiovisual treats, a cool T-Shirt and above all, the cameraderie of an experienced group of great gamers who regularly appear at HMGS functions. My first introduction was at the recent Gettysburg '99, where I fulfilled a lifelong ambition to play out the entire battle and even visit the battlefield itself. As General Robert E. Rodes, Major General of Division, Ewell's Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, CSA, I got to move, fire, maneuver, and yell my head off. Not only that, but we won (Yah-hoo!)

As an old gamer and history buff, I highly recommend that you check out this event. You'll be lucky too, because you'll never forget the experience!

(Ye Editor, Charley Elsden, recently hosted his first game at Cold Wars Con using his own RECON AND RUSHES OF WORLD WAR II, the first of a series of miniatures rules soon to be published by The Toy Soldier Company/James Delson. He holds an M.A. in History and has recently been publishing articles in MWAN magazine, among others).

FUTURE CAMPAIGNS INCLUDE: Ancient Successors; AWI-1777; Crete'41; Sioux Wars 1876; Texas 1836
