Reliable Department of Defense Sources indicate that Army Infantry Captain Pete Panzeri graduated [in pouring rain] on Friday 13 June 1997 with a Degree Master of Arts in History from the Graduate School of the Ohio State University. Panzeri reportedly spent the first months of 1997 working feverishly on his military history thesis entitled:

Sioux War Tactics: The Evolution of Trooper and Tribal Warfighting 1866 - 1876

Panzeri presented the thesis in May as partial fulfillment M. A. requirements in the Graduate School of the Ohio State University. The [most generous] Master's Examination Committee consisted of Dr. John F. Guilmartin (Advisor), Dr. Allan R. Millett (Director of the Military History Program) and Dr. Alan Beyerchen. The thesis research will become the foundation for a book on the same topic and title.
