1997 a Banner Year

Accomplishments, Adventures, and Advances

  • JAN: Rang in the New Year in Florida, Mom and Dad, etc. Celebrated House selling (and Ohio State's Rose Bowl victory).

  • MAR: Presented "Little Big Horn - Final Chapter" at Cold Wars '97 along with an Old Glory "Reno Hill" scenario and a BIG 54mm La Haye Sainte Scenario with Tom Milmore.

  • APRIL: Gave the same Little Big Horn Presentation at CapCon, OH, NashCon, in Tennessee and Arm Chair General's Balls, Fort Leavenworth KS.

  • MAY: Completed and Successfully Defended my M.A. Thesis ... HOORAY! Then presented at Bayou Wars, New Orleans, a trip compliments of Gulf South HMGS.

  • JUNE: MA Graduate, Ohio State University, Columbus Ohio.

  • JULY: Little Big Horn and Desert Storm at HMGS-Origins, Columbus Ohio, and HistoriCon, Lancaster, PA ... and also MOVED to NEW JERSEY, amen! phew! what a MONTH!!

  • AUG: Began teaching at USMAPS, writing and Director of Military History Programs.

  • SEPT: Formed the Military History TACTICS GROUP USMAPS, w/USMA Wargamers and Military History Department.

  • OCT: Invaded England!

  • NOV: 15 USMAPS Cadets on a field trip, with Major Mark Zaslavsky, to "Fall In '97" convention at Gettysburg PA. Conducted TWO very large LITTLE BIG HORN Wargames with 24 players and 25mm Old Glory figs.

  • DEC: Watched Army KILL Navy ... er, that is for exactly 41 seconds, then Navy won the game! Returned to Florida, Mom and Dad, etc.
