U.S. Army Ordnance Museum

AFV's and Artillery

Aberdeen, MD, USA

by William Peterson

If you love the heavy hardware: AFV's and artillery, this is about as close to Heaven as you can get. Some of the exhibits are unique, for example the massive German WWII railway gun "Anzio Annie" and the U.S. "Atomic Cannon". Many are rare (WWII Japanese and Italian armor are well represented). The real joy is seeing literally hundreds of historic tanks and artillery pieces lined up under the open sky where they belong, rather than bunched in some stuffy warehouse. Admission is free.

Location: Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland Building 2601 Aberdeen & Maryland Avenues tel (410)278-3602
