To: Candidate Gamers at TWISTERCON No. 7 and other wargaming buddies of mine...
Gerry Lane of Shreveport, Louisiana USA was the SECOND person to respond to my recent email request for players and will play the very KEY ROLE of DAVOUT in the upcoming Napoleon's Battles scenario "Napoleon at the Gates of Smolensk..." The FIRST response was from a fellow gamer who lives in IRELAND!!! In spite of his enthusiasm for the scenario and for Napoleon's Battles in general, I don't think we can (for certain) count on him to attend TWISTERCON... Yet, is not the INTERNET an incredibly powerful device for collaboration??? On a more sober note, we still need NINE more players to fill the remaining KEY ROLES (marked below with an "*") and we have less than SIX WEEKS to find them prior to TWISTERCON No. 7!!! I would ABSOLUTELY value ANY SUGGESTIONS you might have for these NINE remaining players: FRENCH A. Grande Armee
2. Davout * (Gerry Lane of Shreveport, La. USA) 3. Poniatowski * (commanding a very large Polish contingent) 4. LeFebvre * (commanding the French Guard) 5. Bessieres 6. Ney * (commanding the large force composed of Wurtemburg and French) 7. Junot 8. Murat 9. Monbrun RUSSIAN B. 1st Russian Army of the West
2. Baggovout * (commanding the largest Russian corps and attached cavalry) 3. Tuchkov * (commanding another large Russian corps and cavalry) 4. Tolstoi 5. Constantine 6. Docturov * (commanding another large Russian corps and cavalry) 7. Uvarov 8. Depreradovitch 9. Kakhoffski 10. Korff 11. Pahlen 12. Platov C. 2nd Russian Army of the West
14. Raevsky 15. Borosdin 16. Knorring 17. Sievers D. Independent Russian Commands
19. Ferentonpov I am particularly interested in getting volunteers to play Napoleon and Barclay de Tolly... I have information to share with both Napoleon and Barclay in advance of the game; that will allow them to make plans and handle some communications with their subordinates prior to the gameday...
