About six or so months ago, Dave Williams and I were talking on the phone about what additional cool things we could do for the Doomtown game. I don't recall exactly where the idea came from (I may have ported it over from a similar idea for the Rage" trading card game), but we seized on the idea of making the upcoming 1999 World Champion into a Dude card for the game. This, we thought, was a seriously cool prize for anyone. Of course, once we had the idea, we had to make it retroactive to the first Doomtown Most Wanted championship. The 1998 tournament season had been dominated by one "Killer" Kerry Breitenstein, the soft-spoken, charming, and utterly ruthless Sweetrock gunslinger. Everyone in the tournament scene was talking about how to beat her in the 1999 season. It was definitely time for a Killer Kerry card. Dave and I agreed that the Dude card would have to be aligned with the faction the player used in the Most Wanted tournament-no playing Agency and making yourself a Maze Rat. Also, the Dude's abilities would reflect some combination of the winner's wishes for the card and flip the winner's style of play. We also let the winner choose the artist for the portrait. At Gen Con this year, we presented Kerry with the original Lissanne Lake artwork for her card. Yes, I stood her up on a chair and talked about her with a megaphone. I excel at embarrassing people when I work at it. Like right now, I reckon Kerry's starting to blush yet again as she reads this.... Killer Kerry will appear in the Revelations expansion. Andrew Davidson, who won the 1999 Most Wanted tournament will appear in Ghost Town; the first Doomtown expansion next year. Michael Brooks, "Killer" Kerry Breitenstein, and Edward Bolme Of herself, Kerry had this to say: "My story starts when I was born on a cold December 1968 in the thriving metropolis of South Amboy, New Jersey. Ma and Pa were both wanted, so we moved around lot when I was young. We finally settled in Cincinnati. "I was a precocious youth with great interest in the outdoors and sports, mainly basketball. I guess I always have had a knack for shooting things. "In the fall of 1986, 1 met my future husband, Todd. I graduated from high school the next spring. Todd and I spent a couple of years together before getting hitched ir 1988. "After dabbling in college for a few years, I settled in employment as a medical transcriptionist-between gunsling jobs, of course. Todd and I eventually had three very loud and sticky children. Jonathan, Alex, and Marissa sure make things interesting. "I spent a short time recently working on what were called the X-Files ... that is, until they were shut down. was a shame because I really had a handle on it. They used to call me 'Champ' Now I spend my days wandering the streets of Gomorra helping protect Sweetrock's interests. "When I do get free time, I like to visit the deadlands and wander Arkham searching for Cthulhu. All of this has caused much paranoia, and I must pay my respects as a low citizen. This is, of course, while I work to keep my shooting skills sharp..."
