The end of the first two-year story arc is fast approaching, and with it, the end of one of the factions in Gomorra. The bell is starting to toll.... The Revelations expansion releasing in October brings the full fury of Knicknevin and his minions to Gomorra as they seek to turn this "Doomtown" into a deadland. Austin Stoker and a band of grim, determined gunslingers are all that stand in the great Demon's way. What happens? How does this climactic battle end? We let you decide. On Halloween weekend (Oct. 29-31), Stronghold stores around the world will hold Kingdom Come tournaments. Each and every player will affect the results of this final battle at the mother lode. Each and every player's Outfit and wins will be accounted for. You can be a part of this ... or you can stand by while folks braver than you die for something they believe in. This tournament will have three storyline effects. Ain't none of them a small effect, neither. One Outfit Wins. This Outfit gets the credit for defeating Knicknevin or Stoker, as the case may be, and will definitely benefit from being the winner; there's a lot of good that comes from stopping the unstoppable. Not that this won't also make the Outfit even more unpopular with its foes, but hey, when you're top dog, every varmint with a chip in the county wants to take you on. This part of the storyline effect will be determined primarily by how people place in the tournaments. If you win, that's a major score for your plan. One Outfit Dies. Yep. Dies. This Outfit will be shattered and will never again be seen on the streets of Gomorra. Now obviously, if someone like, say, the Agency dies, well, we can't expect events in the ol' Gomorra to utterly annihilate a nationwide network of U.S. government agents. So while the Agency as a which won't die, its agents will, and they'll never again choose to meddle in such affairs as far away and out-of-touch as Gomorra's. This part of the storyline effect will be determined primarily by participation. just show up with your favorite Outfit deck and you help your Outfit's cause. One Side Conquers. Knicknevin or Stoker: only one is walking away from this battle. This will decided by comparing victories for Flock, Whateleys, and corrupt Sweetrock on one side versus eve one else on the other. And we didn't say we'd make the comparisons fair. Nothing in life is fair; you've no doubt learned that if you're still alive (or at least still moving) in Gomorra. If Stoker wins, all is well, or at least as well as things be when you've just faced down an evil Demon from He and all of his mad followers. In short, the world will be saved from the supernatural, though not necessarily from of the machinations of mortals. If Knicknevin wins, watch out! Gomorra, California will turned into a deadland, as Knicknevin installs his Kingdom on Earth. Expect a very dark future if this happens, folks We all know that Rob, our story czar, can get gruesome, you ain't seen nothin' yet! The effects of this tournament, good or bad (or, more likely, both) will be seen in the forthcoming Boot Hill edition the Doomtown game. To get yerself involved, ask at your local store, or chect the Doomtown website at http://www.wizards.com/doomtown/ We'll be posting the list of participating stores as they sign up. Do it now, while you still can.
