Greetings

by Brian Bradford

Greetings fellow Bushi!

I apologize for my tardiness with this latest issue, but I was very busy with school. The long road is finally over and I am now a graduate with a degree in history and a single-subject waiver for teaching. However, just as one road ends another soon follows and now I am in the starting stage of applying to teacher credential programs and finding a real job!

In keeping with the goals of this newsletter I have several bits of information that you will find useful. The focus of this issue is on one of the most powerful families in Japan, the Mori. A short biography is provided on the life of Mori Motonari along with one of his battles: Gassan Toda Castle. The scenario has received much praise from those who have playtested it and I think you will enjoy it as well. You will also find some flag descriptions as well for the Mori clan.

Stephen Turnbull has finished his latest book on the samurai entitled The Samurai Sourcebook. This is his best work to date and is a must get for any interested in the samurai. I will provide a short review of this next issue

As always, I want to invite you to send anything 'samurai' to me for inclusion into the newsletter. If you have played a good KK scenario, seen a good Kurosawa movie, or just have some questions about the period I would like to hear about it. This newsletter is for your enjoyment and without your comments I cannot make it better.
