Greetings

by Brian Bradford

Greetings fellow Bushi!

Welcome to the first newsletter supporting the miniature rules Killer Katanas.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to all who have supported this set of rules thus far. I had no idea that there would be such a following! I will try to keep the tradition of providing you with informative material covering many aspects of the Sengoku Jidai period of Japanese history. It is my goal to provide you with material that has never been published in the west, and not provide a rehash of material already covered by authors such as Turnbull and Bryant.

However, this is a support letter for a set of miniature wargame rules, therefore, this will be a main emphasis of the newsletter, and I will be dedicating space in each issue to game replays, figure reviews, building reviews, book reviews, and will provide a scenario in every issue.

I ask you to bear with me because this is my first newsletter and I am learning as I go. As many of you know from my web page I am still in school and am working towards my degree in History and a teaching credential. Many projects were delayed because I just did not have the time to do them. This semester will probably be no different, and the fact that it is my last semester will mean that things will be more hectic and even more so when I go off to pursuit my teaching credential. What this means is that although I plan to put out this newsletter quarterly there may be times when I am late, but I will get it done.

I invite you to send anything 'Samurai' to me for inclusion in the newsletter: seen a good movie?, have questions about the period of history?, or played a KK scenario?, then let me and others know about it. Also, send in your comments. I cannot make this newsletter better without knowing what you want.

Well, that about does it for this issue. I hope you enjoyed it. I do not know what I will do for the next issue, but I am thinking of something along the lines of different specimens of firearms used in Japan, such as cannon and arquebuses--I have some neat pictures of them from a book called Senryaku Bushu Jiten. Do not worry I will have another scenario!

I thank you all. If you have any questions or comments please Email them to me at KllrKatnas@aol.com or write to me at:
