S.E.G.O.M. 50 Boulevard Malesherbes, Paris 8, France Long overdue apologies to this manufacturer of plastic figures. A poor repreduction of their first wargame figure listing left me with the impression that they were unsuccessfully striving for 20 or 23mm figures. Actually, their figures are 30mm. However, as all of us know, 30mm means that a man 6 ft. tall stands 30mm in that scale. For some reason the average SEGOM wargame figure stand roughly 5'6" in 30mm scale! Don't they know that all soldiers are 6 ft. tall? Current offerings include standard, office r/trum peter, and trooper of Guard Chasseurs, a cuirassier, Guard Dragoon, line hussar trooper, Polish style lancer, Austrian dragoon, Landweln trooper, dragoon of Prussia, line, light, and guard French infantry with officers, drummers, and standards, officer, soldier, and standard for Russia, Prussia, Austria, British line & Highlanders. Latest SEGOM editions are a British rifleman and Guard Grenadier (the latter appocrytical, as the bearskin was issued after Waterloo. This is a common error among European firms) and a mounted French general officer combination figure - sabre in hand or in scabbard. As usual, the detail is excellent, and the figures are a joy to paint. The Fusilier, Kurt Johnson, 3551 39th Street, N. W., Washington, D. C. 20016 A nicely illustrated magazine with a good deal of flag and uniform information. This publication is cleanly printed, nothing fancy, but offers uniform data on a variety of periods. The editor shares my eccentric fondness for pike and shot, and offers flag and costume data from widespread research. Perhaps too much single unit data for wargame emphasis. AirFix Products Ltd. Review models not received, but a few of the new British Hussar ($2.00) and Foot Guard ($1.00) are appearing in this country. These new 54mm figures are well received and mark a new venture on the part of this perennially surprising firm; Jack Scruby Military Miniatures - P. 0. Box 3125, Visalia, California Among the new figures are a series of French Infantry and Artillery (Napoleonic) in 25mm and 30mm Zulu War types - Artillery (25mm) sets are available with 1 gun, (4 lb., 6 lb., 8 lb., or 12 pd. French), officer, and 3 gunners, for $1.50. A 20mm or 25mm Neachatel battalion of 37 infantry, mounted officer, 1 artillery officer, 3 guns, and 1 gun is offered in a package deal, with painting instructions (yellow coats!) goes for $11.50. The Courier (New England Wargame Club) Dick Bryant 45 Willow Street, Brockton, Mass. 02401 Starting some years back, this lively publication has a definite wargame flair, carrying articles from many traditions of the hobby, and has grown from a small local mimeograph journal into a pretty impressive digest. Photos generally in centerfold. Cover, however, seems to depict a French Cuirassier being used as a courier - definitely contrary to the Emperor's instructions. Some rules for different periods also published by The Courier in independent covers. Miniature Figurines Magazine. Put Out by Miniature Figurine Ltd. - 5 Northam Road, Southampton, S02 ONZ, England, John Cox, Editor. Put out by a model soldier firm, and with the avowed intent of not competing with Don Featherstone's "Wargamer's Newsletter," this one specializes in uniform and organization detail. Taken straight you can get an awful lot of that into 20 pages. The selection is quite good, and the uniform plates, done by Peter Heath, are clear and well drawn. Hannoversche Zinnfiguren, G. Tobinnus, D-3. Hannover auf dem Dorm 24, West Germany. Aside from a new trade name, Gerhard Tobinuus has notified us of a large size mounted figure of Spanish 1 Bth century commander S. Collona (# V8) two 30mm Burgundion infantry (14th century) with pole arms in route march (Bu 5 & 6) 30mm Prussian Musketeers of 1760 (Pr 15a & b) advancing over broken ground with fixed bayonets. The Burgundians are a particularly intriguing sort for medieval collectors. New Items
