Military Modelling by Don Featherstone. He did it again! Don has gathered notes, articles, and experience on the general subjects of making, converting, painting, and otherwise modelling soldiers, canons, vehicles, buildings, and scenery. Ai first glance through, the book is definitely unspectacular. Photography is the principal culprit. Many modeling magazines top the book in every issue. The photos are unevenly distributed and imply that Military Modelling is less comprehensive and informative than is, in fact, the case. Comments on how to paint flats, assemble Historex Figures, design and cast original figures, and a chapter (including Dave Geisz's Afrika Korps notions) on Airfix are part of this work which at $6.95, is a bit steep in price but much more useful than it appears at a glance. Presents a set of Napoleonic Wargame Rules intermediate in complexity between early Featherstone and some of the wilder contemporary schemes. The game is designed to be played with individual figures ... some players in this country hardly believe this form of wargaming ever existed. However, the rules are quite playable, and practically anything played without bases can be adopted to use bases. Helmet Products, Beechwood, Surrey England.
