Tom Berg We are in the midst of a campaign with the final battle in about a week (approx. 2000 30mm figures) will send you results and rules perhaps some pictures if interested. Thank you. Ed. Affirmative! Bill Gulick I just received the first four copies of The Armchair General and found it to be a great magazine and much to my liking. A friend of mine and I would like to have a Napoleonic wargame but we have one big problem, we don't have any artillery of this period nor do we know what to color them. With your article "The Guns are Colored" (Vol. I No. 1) you cleared up the problem of coloring, but now for the first problem. Do you know where I can get some Napoleonic artillery in 20 or 25mm. for a reasonable price. Thank you very much for your troub,le. Ed.: Artillery is usually the least of one's problems. We use about I gun "section" per battallion or squadron at most, hence 5 gunners and 2 guns for 40 infantry. In my last game it was 2 howatizers, 4 field guns, 80 cavalry, 200 infantry. More often 240 foot to 60 horse to 10 guns. As our guns represent few pieces we use more models. However, I digress. You can get away with a Thomas Napoleon for the post 1809 British. For a more accurate model, or any split trail weapon, see reconaissance, and check Scruby or Miniature Figurines. Chip Maurer I am just getting started and have just ordered some Prussian soldiers of the 1866-1871 (Franco-Prussian) period from Jack Scruby. I am building 2 armies of this period, an allied army of Prussians and Austrians (Ed. in 1866?) and a Russian Army based on the Crimean time. These are the new I" size by Jack Scruby. Ed.: Washington area enthusiasts will take notice of the above address and make contact. I am rather anxious to see some of Jack's I" Franco-Prussian & earlier figures myself. SPS Stephen Haller "Is your magazine primarily concerned with wargames in general or the figure collecting hobby as a whole? Is your rate still $3-00 a year for 6 issues? "I've been a wargamer for about 7 years and my primary interest is the American Revolution. I have over 1,000 20mm. I use a 6' x 8' table. However I am intensely interested in all phases of the wargaming hobby." Ed.: We are ambivilent. Our wargaming bias is probably too obvious to ignore, but we aspire to publishing items of interest to more peaceful collectors as well. Mike Broers I read Mr. Chris Osborn's report on his Napoleonic wargames in your latest issue, and I found it of great interest. As you know from my last letter, I am a beginner, and a friend of mine and I have begun to prepare to begin our own Napoleonic games here in Glendale. We would very much appreciate it if Mr. Osborn would contact us at the address above, as we would like to lead some free "countries" in his set-up. Thanks very much; and may your lancers always rally after a charge. Ed.: Chris, take notice. I don't know the Russian for Ensign or porte epee fahnetragor but I think you have a couple of applicants.
