Again this year, on October 12, 1968, the Military Figure Collector's of America (MFCA) is sponsoring a wargame convention in Philadelphia. Last year over 200 wargamers swarmed in on the Masonic Hall at 1618 Womrath Street and settled down to a day of battle, speeches on wargame matters, the renewal of old acquaintances, swapping, and supplementing their armies from vendors. At least one controversial new board game was unveiled. This year Ed Miller, the chairman, has announced a tournament to include 64 games on the first round of elimination, using a fast diceless wargame devised especially by Bob Wall for the occasion, and demonstrated at the Spring MFCA general convention. Remember, the first 64 entries received will be in the tournament. Trophies will also be awarded for the following categories:
Best 30mm Army (100 or more) Best Cavalry Unit (10 or more figures) Best Other Army (100 or more) Best 20mm Army (100 or more) Best Single Figure Most Popular Demonstration (Almost anything) Door prizes and a raffle of donated figures will be included, with lunch available during the day, and a dinner in the evening. Total fee is $4.00, including $1.00 for registration and $3.00 for dinner. An entry fee of 0.50 will also be charged for those entering the tournament.
