We call this magazine The Armchair General because it is prepared by and for those who spend their leisure hours second-guessing ancient, musket, and modern commanders in board or table-top wargames, and for those more peaceful types whose armies exist for more parade purposes. We are of the opinion that such "armchair generals" are interested in notions about military models, war game armies (and navies and air forces), games for board and table-top, military history, and last but not least, expressing themselves on such matters. Covered by our first six issues, in addition to items of interest we may receive from you, our readers, will be articles on ancient, pike, musket, and modern military models, games, and history--including air and naval games--and interesting board game developments. On the theory that many an "armchair general" has a soft spot for pagentry and the pictorial in models and military history, we have begun and will continue to develop a library of drawings and photographs to support our articles and features, and will be most appreciative of any you care to submit. We are fully prepared to provide six issues of articles and features of interest to our fellow hobbyists, and to provide a forum of discussion for you. The more readers we have, the more we can afford to put into each and every issue. So tell your friends about The Armchair General and increase the value of your subscription at no extra cost.
