This is the first issue of the year 2000 “Volunteer.” As you can see we’ve decided to put out an issue every quarter. We hope that this will result in a better newsletter. Recently I was pleasantly surprised to learn that our humble newsletter, since being added to Magweb, received over 1000 hit during the fourth quarter of 1999. If you write an article you can expect to reach a larger audience. Charlie and I arrived in Lancaster for Cold Wars 2000 with our eyes glittering in anticipation of a weekend of wargaming. First, our club was well represented and everyone I talked to had a good time. South Jersey gamers spotted at CW2000 included: John Burke, Matt Fritz, John Lesko, Charlie Keller, Tom Gallagher, Ted Poltorak, Rob McBride, and Ceasar Bennett. I want to congratulate Matt Fritz for selfless service and dedication in promoting the club through the Tanker’s Challenge Tournament. We could never have done it without you Matt. The Tanker’s Challenge was well attended and the players had a great time. Our champion was Joe Coniglio Jr. who demonstrated unswerving perseverance in reaching the final round by playing in all four preliminary games.
