President's Message

Editorial

by John Burke

Happy New Year everyone! 1999 was a year of growth for the SJCW. We added new members, a new gaming site in Pleasantville, a web site, and a new layout editor and format for the newsletter. The SJCW also hosted some games at the HMGS conventions for the first time. Let's hope the New Year is a good one for South Jersey Wargamers. I'd like to thank everyone that attended our Game Day on November 13. Our events are what the members make of them. Ray and Matt did a fine job of running their games. Oh well, can't have everything. I want to extend a welcome to a new gamer - John Lesko. I hope John will be joining us at our future Game Days.

Financial Update:

The treasure chest contains $81.85. So the SJCW will finish in the black.

January Game Day Schedule

Empires in Arms: Ray and Will are running this multi-player game of the Napoleonic Wars. Politics, warefare, economics, alliances, treach-ery and back stabbing are included. All the things that made life worth living back then!!!

The End of Days: Some kooks think the world will end at midnight, Dec. 31, 1999. But the Illuminati all know the real End of Days will be Jan. 8, 2000 when the SJCW plays Nuclear Escalation. Matt will host this fast pace game where you get to nuke your friends. Guaran-teed to be a game we'll talk about for years. Tom Gallagher is an early 3-1 favorite to win.

Hunter's From the Sky: The Green Devils drop on Crete and try to seize Maleme airfield and Pt. 107. Ted will run this platoon level board game featuring "the most exciting first game turn since Omaha." The jump light will go on around 4 PM.
