Phil Reports: As the morning mist started to clear from the little hamlet of Balak Hai, the Space Marine's commander, Colonel Lil'shit, and the Dark Eldar commander Lt. Colonel ChasKeller, eyed each other with the disgust and mistrust that had brewed for the thousands of microseconds since they first set eyes upon the other. With his partner Major Disaster holding the town, ChasKeller made a bold stroke of moving up on the right flank of the Space Marine unit located in a forest not far from the town. Major Disaster began to move his troops out of the hamlet then vacillated and retreated back to the cover of the town. Where upon a Space Marine Land Speeder roared across the battlefield to take up a firing position between the forest and the hamlet. In the ensuing exchange of deadly fire, the Dark Eldar squad lost one of their own, but in return nailed the Land Speeder in the engine causing it to cork screw itself into the ground. On the left flank, ChasKeller was having equally good luck storming the Space Marine squad. An exchange of weapon fire followed by a vicious assault sent the Space Marines reeling. ChasKeller in hot pursuit managed to catch and destroy the remainder of the Space Marine squad. At this point the second Marine squad emerged from the woods and attempted to engage the remainder of ChasKeller's troops. Major Disaster moved with all due haste in an effort support ChasKeller's perilous position. Unfortunately, Disaster had waited far too long before abandoning the hamlet. The Space Marines managed to catch up with ChasKeller's troops while they were attempting to reposition themselves. By the time Disaster arrived, ChasKeller's troops were in full retreat blasting as they went anything that moved. Disaster attempted to engage the remaining Space Marines. Living true to their commander's name, the unit that had deftly brought down a Land Speeder, suddenly couldn't hit the broad side of Jupiter. In a matter of minutes, six of the seven Dark Elder lay dead or dying while inflicting only a single casualty. As night fell, only a single Dark Elder remained to stand guard over his fallen comrades. Lil'shit may have carried the field, but there was one square inch he wasn't getting! In a discussion later on with the Games Workshop coordinator, he said this game was the closest that anyone came to winning with the Dark Eldar all day.
